Can I heat up a print result?

  • Please check the following contents.

Heat may be applied if these guidelines are followed:
・ Apply heat “Less than 80℃ (176°F)” for “Less than 60min”.

If the print will be in a “high temperature place” for extended periods:
・ We recommend heats “Less than 60℃ (140°F)”.

[Detail]:
1. You need a following caution to heat up a print result,

① The print result may change its color after you heat it. The white especially may yellow. To avoid this, you should heat it “Less than 80℃ (176°F)” and “Less than 60min”.
・ The above recommended heat conditions are only informative, and are not guaranteed.
Please test the finished print before beginning production.
・ When heating the print beyond the recommended settings, please test the finished print before beginning production.

Cautions for each type of UV ink:
・ [LF-200 ink]:

If the heat up temperature gets higher than 80℃ (176°F), the print result will be yellow.
・ [LH-100 ink]:
If the temperature gets higher than 80℃ (176°F), the print result will not yellow. Ink adhesion will be reduced.

② The membrane of printed ink is hard. So if you try to laminate the print result, the pressure will crack the hardened ink surface while it goes through a laminator. Therefore, we do not recommend you to laminate the “Hard Ink” prints.

③ Fumes may be released from the print when heat is applied. If you have an adverse reaction to the fumes, leave the print area and ventilate if necessary.

④ The cured ink will melt at 300℃ (572°F).
